I don't know what MacBook I have but it was bought around 2008 I think. Is there any version of IMovie I can install and if so, how do I go about installing it?

'How to get IMovie on an old mac? I don't know what MacBook I have'

To see what you own, click the Apple logo menu at top left, and choose 'About This Mac'. Depending on which version of software you have, you may also need to click 'More Info'.

Just doing my bit to increase the number of Mac users who know what the own. Damn PC geeks are always criticizing us for not knowing anything.

iMovie came with the computer. Insert one of the two EXTREMELY VALUABLE AND EXPENSIVE DVDs that came in the box with the computer and install iMovie. If you THREW THE EXPENSIVE DVDs OUT with the garbage, call 1-800-275-2273 and ask to buy the restore DVDs for this age of MacBook.

    • Other ways of updating iMovie? I'm making a video presentation but my iMovie is outdated, the only way to update it is through the mac App Store and they want my zip code and all that personal info when they review my account. I don't want to give them my personal information to update iMovie. Is there any other way i can update iMovie?
    • Is it worth it to take really old white MacBook to Apple care to get fixed? I only want to use it to run logic x or pro tools Also where is good place to get good working used MacBooks? I bought one from Craigslist and they had taken parts out of it inside and switched the screen too?
    • IMovie accept button I really want to get iMovie on my Macbook Pro Late 2011, (13 inch to be more specific), and when I enter my password for my Apple ID, it says 'accept', and I click it. Afterward, it doesn't tell me if it's downloading or if it has downloaded. I have one of the older updates for MacOS, which might be the problem.
    • Father won't let me get rid of old gaming desktop? We built the thing when i was in middle school. I'm in my second year of college and I'm moving out in the spring so i'm going to get a macbook or a high end gaming laptop. It's just that he straight up refuses to let me get rid of that thing. He also refuses to let me buy a new laptop. I honestly don't get it. I work full time, it's not his money that's being used and the desktop takes up too much space in the dorm anyways.
